About The Project



INTRODUCTION

This project is aimed to improve the communication skills of our students and to promote and strengthen teamwork both students and  teachers taking part in the project.
In this project we will try to improve the different areas of communication in a second language (English): written and oral; and we will try to achieve an improvement in acquisition of various key skills in students: to learn to learn, sense of initiative and entrepreneurship , conscience and cultural expressions, social and civic, digital, mathematics, science and technology.

As the Project will be developed in English, it is intended for students to improve their language proficiency in a foreign language, and they are desinhibited when expressed in a different language to their mother tongue.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES
- To bring the different media to students, teachers and other staff and families of the partner schools.
- To improve communication skills of our students.
- To encourage and strengthen teamwork both students and the teachers taking part in the project.
- To start in the use of technology for education and learning  as well as different applications and programs to improve their skills.

SCHOOL NEWSPAPER OBJECTIVES
- To know the different sections that make up a school newspaper.
- To develop communication skills, both writing and reading.
- To develop critical thinking and analytical skills of students.
- To promote students participation in group activities, learning to work in teams and mutual respect.
- To improve the digital skills of students.

OBJECTIVES OF THE RADIO SCHOOL
- To propose the use of school radio as a possibility of further development and deepening of learning.
- To link the different areas of knowledge through creative processes that require the use of different language skills and communication .
- To stimulate the creative processes as an alternative form of research, development and ownership of the curriculum.
- To highlight the diversity, exchange and communication as a way to build a collective reality sustained by the direct participation of its protagonists.
- To promote school radio as a space of opening the school to the community, a meeting place and joint construction of knowledge.
- To encourage a process of socialization of information and knowledge through the fluid and constant communication that allows the radio.

OBJECTIVES OF THE TELEVISION SCHOOL
- To encourage interest in reading.
- To improve oral and written expression.
- To improve reading comprehension.
- To introduce students in the knowledge of television as a mass media.
- To promote the integration of students  in school.
- To improve coexistence and communication between the different members of the educational community.
- To use Internet for information search.
- To learn handling a camcorder or any other technological medium that allows recording images.

ACTIVITIES AND TIMING SCHOOL NEWSPAPER
Each term we will publish a newspaper, so they will be three throughout the school year. First of all, we will do a contest to name our school newspaper and the logo.
We will make a group of responsable students to organize the newspaper and to collect the works of their classmates. The will créate the documents and will be who share the results in the web.
The scheme of our school newspaper would be as follows (this can be changed over the course according to the needs of the participants in the project):
1. Home (newspaper name, partner schools names and logo).
2. Index newspaper.
3. Letter-opinion in which greetings from a member of the Management Team from each school.
4. School News concerning educational celebrations, extracurricular activities, training and complementary activities, school newsletter, etc.
5. Interviews with interesting characters.
6. Lessons of History and culture of each town.
7. Literary, musical and artistic section.
8. The weather on each town.
9. Gastronomy.
10. Sports News on each school.
11. Hobbies made by students and aimed at different ages.
12. Cover.

 SCHOOL RADIO

The idea would be to develop podcasts and upload them to the blog of the project, monthly during the first term, and weekly throughout the second and third terms. The team of teachers involved in the project will meet periodically to establish the contents of each recording and how they will be developed. The gender of each of the microprograms will be defined: news, radio drama, radio plays, interviews, sport, entertainment, musical, opinion column, researching a particular topic, etc. The name of our school radio and logo will be the same of the school newspaper.

Each Project partner school will be responsible for the material search, performing the script, writing the text, and speech and recording it. It would be desirable to distribute content in short blocks to facilitate recording and editing; and then not to be very exhausting to listening to it.
It is very important that all the partner students know better each other, the traditions of each town and each country, so the topics they could investigate about could be:
- my school.
- my town / city
- how we celebrate the New Year
- my country, its history and geography
- popular cuisine.
- dances and popular games.
- festivities.

At the end of the project you could edit a final CD with the whole work.

SCHOOL TELEVISION

The idea would be to develop a television program throughout the first term, and during the second and third term, a monthly program.
The group of teachers involved in the project will establish genres to be covered in each class group, with the idea that these are many and varied and not repetitive. Genres that could be developed are: news, culture, cinema, sports, arts, entertainment, interview, etc.), the corner of culture (where students tell or read his literary creations) results of research on a subject, plays (dialogues or monologues), etc.

 PROJECT BLOG
All the results will be published in the twinspace and in the Project blog. We will create a closed Facebook group to share teachers opinions and doubts.


PROJECT EVALUATION
At the end of each term a self-assessment of the project will be done both by the students and the participating teachers, to assess the strengths and weaknesses, with the idea of improving the worst aspects evaluated in the following term. Evaluation surveys will be passed among participants.

AUTHORIZATION
A written authorization for taking and publishing students images will be requested to their families from the beginning of the project.
